In Venice and Arezzo, the centre-right is ahead, expelling Reggio Calabria in the first round. In Salerno, victory in the first round for Vincenzo De Luca (without the symbol of the PD). In Prato, the centre-left is confirmed, expelling Pistoia. These are the first results to emerge from the first Opinio Rai projections for the first round of the administrative elections on 24 and 25 May, which see 743 municipalities voting (6.2 million voters involved), including 18 provincial capitals.

The centre-right in Venice
The mayoral candidate of Venice of the centre-right Simone Venturini is ahead of the candidate of the centre-left, Andrea Martella. According to the fourth Opinio projection for Rai, Venturini is at 51.5%, Martella at 38.5%. If confirmed, these figures would mean a first-round victory for the centre-right. 'President Giorgia Meloni has told me that she will come to Venice very soon to help us on particular situations,' candidate Venturi announced.
De Luca triumphs in Salerno
In Salerno, the outgoing governor Vincenzo De Luca (supported by 7 lists, 5 of which are civic) with 59.3 per cent. The other two candidates are far behind: Gherardo Maria Marenghi (centre-right) is at 15 per cent and Franco Massimo Lanocita (M5s and Avs) at 14 per cent
In Reggio Calabria Cannizzaro (centre-right) wins in the first round
In Reggio Calabria, it was a triumph for Francesco Cannizzaro, Forza Italia's deputy group leader at the Chamber of Deputies, with 69.9%. The centre-left candidate Domenico Battaglia stopped at 21.7%.
