Saturday 27 July will be a red dot, both in the morning and in the afternoon according to the Autostrade per l'Italia forecast. For those on the road, which are the regions where it is cheapest to fill up? According to the Ministry of Enterprise survey of 26 July, the lowest regional average daily price is in the Marche: 1.825 euro per litre for petrol, 1.713 for diesel. For green, in the group of the cheapest regions there are also Veneto (1.834), Lombardy (1.837), Piedmont (1.838), Umbria (1.847), Lazio (1.848) and Emilia-Romagna (1.851). The region where petrol costs the most is instead Trentino Alto-Adige (1.888), with the province of Bolzano touching 1.903 euro per litre, while Trento stops at 1.877. It is also more expensive in Basilicata (1.884), Sicily (1.883), Sardinia and Valle d'Aosta (1.879).
Low prices in Sondrio
.According to elaborations on the page The price of petrol, updated daily by Lab24 of Il Sole 24 ore, the average price of petrol on the road network on 26 July 2024 in Italy was 1.854 euro per litre (down from 1.856 the previous day), while on motorways it reached 1.946 (down from 1.947 the previous day). The province where the average daily road price is highest is Nuoro, followed by Messina and Bolzano. It is instead in Sondrio that the average daily road price is lowest, then come Lodi and Ancona.
Declining trend
.In general, for those travelling to holiday resorts in Italy, prices are falling at the petrol station. In the latest survey by the Ministry of the Environment (of 22 July) the weekly average is falling: 1.862 euro per litre for petrol (-7.66 cents compared to the previous week), 1.742 for diesel (-8.58 cents). Summer peak at the beginning of July (1.871), in any case down from 1.914 in April. Far from the record of 14 March 2022: that week petrol averaged 2.18 euro per litre, while diesel reached 2.15 euro.
In Lithuania cheap petrol
.For those travelling beyond Italy's borders, the EU countries within reach of the motorway where it is cheapest to buy petrol, according to the European Commission's latest survey of 22 July, are Lithuania (EUR 1.491 per litre the average weekly price), the Czech Republic (EUR 1.509 per litre), Slovenia (EUR 1.511), Romania (EUR 1.516) and Poland (EUR 1.526). Those, on the other hand, where the disbursement at the pump becomes more exorbitant are Denmark (2.059 euro per litre for green), the Netherlands (1.998), Greece (1.893), Italy (1.862 precisely) and France (1.828).
