Enrica Giorgetti is leaving due to retirement Farmindustria, which she headed in the last twenty years with three presidents. Carlo Riccini, her deputy, was appointed today as the new director general by the Board of the Association of Pharmaceutical Enterprises in Italy, effective 1 December 2025. This is a move in absolute continuity with Enrica Giorgetti who, after holding important positions in large listed companies and in the Confindustria system, has led the Farmindustria structure since 2005 with passion and competence, recognised at every level.
Enrica Giorgetti has been a member of the board of Efpia, the European Association of Pharmaceutical Companies, for four terms, and 'has tackled the continual transformations in the sector with strategic vision and innovative spirit,' Farmindustria said in a statement. Always oriented towards dialogue with European, national and regional institutions and attentive to the international dimension, she has worked for the recognition of the value of one of the leading sectors of industry in Italy, for collaboration between companies and the scientific world for the development of research in Italy, and for a participatory model of industrial relations, in agreement with trade union representatives. Current Deputy Director General, Director of the Study Centre and Head of Farmindustria's Small Industry Office, Carlo Riccini was born in Rome in 1974. With a degree in Statistics and a Master's in Economics, he was an officer in the Italian Army and has twenty-five years' experience in the Confindustria system, twenty of them in Farmindustria. He represents the Association in Europe in the economic working groups of Efpia, the European Federation, and in Italy in those of Confindustria.
