Ferrari Purosangue Handling Speciale, the new version of the Maranello suv debuts
Refined set-up, quicker response and an even more involving V12: the new configuration focuses on dynamics without sacrificing comfort
The Ferrari Purosangue Handling Speciale debuts, the new configuration already available to order, with the first deliveries expected in the coming months. Unveiled today, this evolution of the Ferrari Purosangue raises the bar of driving pleasure even higher, focusing on greater precision and responsiveness without sacrificing the everyday versatility typical of the model.
More dynamic, without losing comfort
The technical basis remains unchanged: transaxle architecture with a 725 hp naturally aspirated V12 engine at the front-centre and an eight-speed F1 gearbox at the rear, combined with the latest dynamic control systems. What has changed is the set-up. The active suspension has been recalibrated to reduce body movements by 10 per cent, making the car flatter and more precise in changes of direction. The result is a more immediate response to commands and a greater feeling of control, especially in sporty driving through sequential corners. Acceleration is always impressive; in fact, the V12 allows a sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and up to 200 km/h in 10.6 seconds while the top speed is 310 km/h.
Shift and sound: more involvement
Changes were also made to the transmission, with quicker and more decisive shifting logic, particularly in 'Race' and 'ESC-Off' modes. The revs are more ready, while in manual mode the shifts at high revs become more incisive, increasing driver involvement. There is also dedicated work on the sound: the V12 gains an even more pronounced voice at start-up and under acceleration, amplifying the car's character.
Exclusive details inside and out
The Handling Speciale configuration is also distinguished by some dedicated aesthetic details: specially designed wheels, diamond trim, carbon-fibre badges, matt black exhaust tailpipes and dark-coloured exterior details. Inside, an identification plate underlines the exclusivity of the set-up.
Despite its sharper character, the Thoroughbred retains its qualities of roominess and comfort: four real seats, a raised but sporty driving position and great usability in everyday use.
