Ferrari, who is head of design Flavio Manzoni

Flavio Manzoni has been synonymous with Ferrari style for over 15 years. Born in Nuoro on 7 January 1965. After high school he moved to Florence, where he graduated in Architecture with a specialisation in industrial design. It was during his university studies that he began to take an interest in car design, collaborating with "Auto" magazine and producing sketches of cars under development. In 1993, he joined the Centro Stile Lancia, where he initially worked on interiors and became responsible for interior design. He worked on projects such as the Dialogos concept and the interior of the Maserati 3200 GT. In 1999 he moved to Seat, in Barcelona, as head of interior design, contributing to the development of the Altea, the León and the Salsa and Tango concepts. In 2001, he returned to Lancia, called back by Gianni Agnelli, as Director of the Style Centre. Here he oversaw projects such as the Fulvia Concept, the Granturismo Stilnovo and the Ypsilon and Musa production cars, which won the European Automotive Design Award in 2003. In 2004 he became design director for the Fiat, Lancia and light commercial vehicle brands, contributing to the development of the Grande Punto and participating in the design of the new Fiat 500. In 2006, he moved to the Volkswagen group, joining Audi and becoming art director of the group's 'northern' pole in 2007, with responsibility for the Volkswagen, Škoda, Bentley and Bugatti brands. During this period, he worked on models such as the Volkswagen Scirocco, the Golf VI and the Up! concept, contributing to the definition of a new stylistic identity for the group. On 12 January 2010, he was appointed Chief Design Officer at Ferrari, with the task of creating a complete and autonomous in-house Style Centre for the first time. The first production car developed under his direction was the Ferrari FF, followed by the F12berlinetta, with which he was awarded the Compasso d'Oro in 2014. In the following years he received three more Compasso d'Oro awards: in 2016 for the FXX K, in 2020 for the Monza SP1 and in 2024 for the Purosangue.
