With Nine Perfect Strangers (Amazon Prime Video) you spend time wondering how it is possible that Nicole Kidman is still so good. You turn to True Males (Netflix) and regret the Spanish version. You venture onto We Were Liars (Amazon Prime) and it all seems seen and poorly acted.
You even think about reviewing The Last of Us, but then you re-download the game and come up with yet another 'run' that's better. In short, June didn't go so well. July gives some more hope, at least because the return of Sandman promises a lot, given the numerous 'boxes' it opened in the first series. And then the return par excellence is Dexter, which must live up to the best serial killer series of the last thirty years. Enjoy.
The Sandman - Season 2 - 3 July
Like Inside Out, but sicker. There's Destruction, Despair, Delirium, Death and Desire and it's not going to end well. If you know the comic I won't add anything, if you don't know it better, because then you won't waste time making useless comparisons. Unfortunately it will be the last series. (Netflix)
Dexter: Resurrection - from 11 July on Paramount+
The first and only TV series serial killer worthy of the name is resurrected. The finale of Dexter: New Blood had angered everyone, but really everyone. They resurrected him to apologise. And we give thanks. (Paramount+)
Foundation - Season 3 - 11 July
Isaac Asimov could not have found better performers and a better script. We return to the exiles on their journey to save humanity and rebuild civilisation amidst the fall of the Galactic Empire. The third season went through a lot before coming to light. But no matter. This is a great series: even if few people know about it, fans have been waiting for it for a long time. (Apple TV+)
