Often collaborations blossom out of affinity. Todd Snyder, an American designer with a past in the glorious names of star-studded fashion such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Gap and J.Crew, founded his own menswear brand in 2011, which now has 22 single-brand shops in the United States. But Todd Snyder's brand does not include leather goods, which will now arrive thanks to the Florentine brand Il Bisonte, an example of timeless style and long-lasting craftsmanship.

Snyder has known Il Bisonte for more than 30 years, ever since he moved to New York, and wishing to include a sample of bags in his shops, he decided to collaborate with the Florentine brand, founded in 1970 by the multifaceted Wanny Di Filippo and now owned by the Japanese group Look Holdings. The result is a men's capsule consisting of three of Bison's best sellers - a tote bag, a weekend bag and a beauty case - which Snyder has reinterpreted with new materials and new colours: they are made of particularly resistant cotton and linen canvas, with profiles and details in vintage vegetable-tanned leather.

The co-branded collection, which will be presented this evening at the Circolo Canottieri in Florence, will be available from next autumn in the brand's 22 shops. "I have always been passionate about Italian craftsmanship," says Snyder, "and I have found an elegant simplicity and extraordinary craftsmanship in every product from Il Bisonte. I am thrilled to collaborate with an iconic brand that embodies all the qualities I have always admired in Italian design." "In this collection," adds Hideo Shiomoto, CEO of Il Bisonte, "Florence and New York meet under the banner of authenticity, a timeless style free from the dictates of seasonality, and a deep and shared love for traditional craftsmanship, which has always been an essential value.

Il Bisonte closed 2024 with a turnover of around 30 million euros; its first market is Japan, where it has 53 shops, of which three opened in recent weeks in Yokohama, Hiroshima and Osaka.
