Francesco Guccini and his will: here’s what goes to his wife and what goes to his daughter
Under the 2015 legislation, the singer-songwriter’s wife and daughter collaborated in the management of his copyright. This principle was superseded in the 2022 legislation.
His wife Raffaella Zuccari sole heir, and to his daughter Teresa 50 per cent of the copyright royalties, shares in the company Limentra and a number of items of great sentimental value. These are the provisions contained in Francesco Guccini’s last public will, drawn up on 19 January 2022 before the Bolognese notary Luigi Stame and registered yesterday, 8 September, just over a month after the death of the singer-songwriter.
The disclosure of his last will and testament, from which, according to reports, his daughter Teresa is said to have emerged deeply upset. The document expressly revokes any previous will – Guccini had drawn one up on 17 December 2015 before the notary Lorenzo Luca – and names his second wife, Raffaella Zuccari, as the sole heir to all his assets.
The deed was registered before the notary Luigi Stame in the presence of the singer-songwriter’s second wife and daughter. The provision therefore also concerns the property assets of the singer-songwriter. Indeed, Guccini’s last will and testament states that both the house at 43 Via Paolo Fabbri (made famous by an album of the same name) and the family home in Pavana, in the Pistoia Apennines, where he died on 6 August, are to pass to his wife Raffaella, who has been named sole heir. The same fate will befall the other assets of the ‘Italia’-based ‘Italia’-based asset management company’-based asset management company’-based asset management company’-based asset management company’-based asset management company’-based asset management company’-based asset management company’-based asset management company’-based asset management company’-based asset managementMaestrone’.
To Teresa, the singer-songwriter’s only daughter, Guccini bequeaths – in lieu of her statutory share – all his shares in the company Limentra srl and 50 per cent of the economic rights relating to his professional activities as a singer-songwriter and writer. The remaining 50 per cent of the economic copyright is allocated to his second wife, who will also be responsible for managing it. Alongside the financial provisions, there are also a number of personal bequests intended specifically for Teresa.
In the handwritten section of the will, Guccini bequeaths to her his Trameleuc guitar, a gold ring bearing the initials F and G that belonged to his father, and the Leonardo da Vinci watch. Regarding the latter, the singer-songwriter accompanies the bequest with a recommendation to his daughter: to move the hands only forwards and not backwards, to avoid breaking it. Following the reading of the will, all the parties involved chose to remain silent, without publicly commenting on the singer-songwriter’s final wishes.
