There are the many dossiers that have become very hot in a handful of days waiting for him on his desk at the Collegio Romano, but Alessandro Giuli, as his first appointment on the government agenda as neominister, had written "Palazzo Chigi". The Head of Culture appeared yesterday shortly before 3pm in the government building where he had a long talk with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. An 'institutional meeting', the interview was called, which lasted about an hour and a half.
G7 of Culture
."We will be able to talk about many things at the appropriate time. Good work, see you soon,' was his quick greeting as he entered the Collegio Romano in the late afternoon. Since the day of his appointment, on the other hand, the new minister has made discretion his mantra, avoiding declarations, announcements, and even appearances, except for the one at the Venice Film Festival far from the red carpet and where he kept his mouth shut. In silence, therefore, he is unravelling the main issue to be resolved, that of the organisation of the G7 Culture Summit in Naples, which will certainly have been one of the objects of discussion even at the meeting in government headquarters. The stop in Pompeii, where only a brief visit could take place, is in doubt.
The succession at the Maxxi
.In the meantime, the game of his succession at the Maxxi museum is also being defined, although, even there, the timeframe could be a little longer than expected. In fact, the indication of the acting president was expected today, pending the appointment of Giuli's successor, with the co-option of the most senior member of the foundation's board of directors. The most senior member of the foundation's board of directors, Raffaella Docimo, a dentist, is expected to be co-opted today, but she has reportedly taken a step back in favour of Emanuela Bruni, a journalist. In any case, the board of directors will have to be consulted and, as things stand, although imminent, the board has not yet been convened.
Cinema, the names of the "selective"
.After the protests of some film stars, operators and workers in the sector, trade unions and oppositions, the question of the appointments to the 'selective' commission, the one that has to choose the films to which a good slice of tax credit should be granted, remains pending. The names were indicated by Gennaro Sangiuliano before leaving the ministry, which also signed the appointment decree that would however still be under scrutiny by the control bodies. Therefore, if Giuli wanted to, he could still put his hand to it. Paolo Mereghetti, Valerio Caprara, Giacomo Ciammaglichella, Pier Luigi Manieri, Massimo Galimberti, Pasqualino Damiani, Valerio Toniolo, Manuela Maccaroni, Francesco Specchia, Luigi Mascheroni and Stefano Zecchi are the names mentioned by Sangiuliano. Among these, Maccaroni's would also be the name chosen by the Lazio Region for appointment to the board of directors of the Rome Film Festival: the president of the Ministry of Culture's Observatory for Gender Equality, a jurist and court-appointed lawyer, would have been judged by the president of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca, to be adequate for the required skills. And speaking of appointments, some twenty people arrived at the Ministry today to sign their new employment contracts: they are the winners of a competition for administrative officials from which several ministries drew.
