Garlasco, Pavia prosecutor: Sempio killed Chiara Poggi alone. Summoned on 6 May
The Pavia Public Prosecutor's Office attributes the 2007 murder to Andrea Sempio alone and considers a review of Alberto Stasi's final conviction
The Pavia public prosecutor's office has changed the charge in the new investigation into the murder of Chiara Poggi, who was killed on 13 August 2007 in the small villa in Via Pascoli in Garlasco (PV). In the summons to appear set for 6 May, Andrea Sempio, 38, a friend of the victim's brother, is no longer charged in conspiracy with other persons or with Alberto Stasi:prosecutors now charge him only with voluntary manslaughter.
At the same time, Pavia's public prosecutor, Fabio Napoleone, has initiated talks with Milan's public prosecutor's office to request a possible request for a revision of the trial against Alberto Stasi, who was definitively sentenced to 16 years as the sole perpetrator of the crime. At the moment, however, the acts of the new investigation have not yet been transmitted to Milan: this is the necessary step to assess whether the elements collected can support the hypothesis of innocence of the victim's ex-boyfriend and formally reopen the case on a judicial level.
Simio's defence: Andrea had no relationship with Chiara
Andrea Sempio oscillates between 'calm and resigned', but he cannot understand 'this sexual motive' contested in the investigation that sees him as the alleged murderer of Chiara Poggi. "He did not have relations with this girl, I have never dated her and I do not understand this motive, but I am sure it has nothing to do" with the Garlasco murder, he says through his lawyer Angela Taccia. The motive is one of the novelties of the 13 August 2007 crime contained in the invitation to appear of the Pavia prosecutor's office.
The Prosecutor: Sempio argued with Chiara and hit her at least 12 times, even on the stairs
An argument, then repeated blows, at least 12, inflicted mainly on the head and also on the stairs. The scene of the Garlasco murder changed and so did the perpetrator of the murder of Chiara Poggi, killed with a weapon that remains unknown on the morning of 13 August 2007. This is what the Pavia Public Prosecutor's Office claims.
In the deed, the public prosecutor explains that Sempio, 'after an initial scuffle, repeatedly struck the victim with a blunt instrument (first in the left frontal region and in the right zygomatic region), causing him to fall to the ground'.
