She has already returned to Germany Vivian Spohr, the 51-year-old German tourist accused of running over and killing a 28-year-old girl, Gaia Costa, from Tempio Pausania, on a pedestrian crossing in Porto Cervo. The well-known businesswoman in Germany is - as reported by some online newspapers - the wife of Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr, the 58-year-old German manager at the helm of the airline since 2014.
On Tuesday, the German tourist was driving a Bmw X5 SUV in the company of her daughter when she ran over the young Tempio Pausania girl in the centre of Porto Cervo, on the Costa Smeralda. A 118 ambulance arrived on the scene and the doctors tried to revive the girl for about 20 minutes, but she did not make it: the trauma to the head was too severe. The car was impounded, the investigation is still ongoing with the acquisition of surveillance camera footage.
The German newspaper Bild published the words of Vivian Spohr's lawyer: 'The exact circumstances are now being investigated. The Spohr family has expressed its deepest sympathy to the victim's family'. Vivian Spohr has already returned to Germany. Together with her husband Carsten Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa, she was at her holiday home near Porto Cervo.
