The Giorgetti cure is working. This is what the data published by Enea on the performance of the April rebate say. After months of mad rush, the tax rebate is back to ordinary. And, while still experiencing a considerable boost, it is at a much more sustainable level for the state coffers. In the last month, in fact, about 350 million investments and just over a thousand new construction sites were registered.
These are important data, because they are the first that are not affected by the long wave of the end of 2023. In fact, there are 90 days to communicate the asseverations to Enea. Therefore, until the end of March, the data were affected by the race to intercept the last days of the 90/110 per cent discount. In April, however, the numbers totally refer to the 70 per cent discount. And these are numbers that bring the tax rebate back to sustainable levels.
There were 1,063 new construction sites for 344 million in new eligible investments. Completed investments, on the other hand, were worth just over 380 million and the deductions accrued around 400 million. By way of comparison, in the previous month, investments of EUR 5.7 billion had been admitted and deductions of EUR 7.8 billion had been accrued on more than 13,000 new building sites. These are investments in apartment buildings, which in 2024 remain the only ones still eligible for the tax rebate.
