Treasury: 8 billion in Green BTPs issued, with a gross annual yield set at 4.492 per cent
Green BTp bonds benefit from the same tax relief as all other Italian government bonds, at a rate of 12.5 per cent
The new Green BTp offered by the Treasury on the primary market today was issued for a total of 8 billion euros.
This was announced in a statement from the Ministry of the Economy.
The 12-year bond, which has a maturity date of 30 October 2038, was placed at a price of 99.591, corresponding to a gross annual yield at issue of 4.492 per cent.
Green BTp bonds benefit from the same tax relief applicable to all other Italian government bonds, at a rate of 12.5 per cent: this applies to both half-yearly coupons and capital gains realised on sale or at maturity.
Settlement of the transaction is scheduled for 29 September. The placement was carried out by a syndicate of banks comprising Barclays, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo, J.P. Morgan and Société Générale as lead managers, and the remaining Italian government bond specialists as co-lead managers.
