The counter of building bonuses discounted in invoices and transfers has reached the mammoth figure of EUR 219 billion. The figure was announced by Economy Undersecretary Federico Freni in response to a question in the House Finance Committee tabled by Emiliano Frenu (M5S). Thus comes the official update of the total amount of the communications transmitted to the Revenue Agency by the deadline of 4 April, which, in light of the extra time stop imposed by Decree 39/2024, has become the de facto deadline for getting on the transfer train.

The superbonus is worth three quarters

.

Not all of the 219 billion concerns the superbonus. The maxi-bonus (both eco- and seismic versions) has totalled 160.3 billion since its debut in mid-2020. Practically almost three quarters of the total building bonus. All other subsidies starting with the facade bonus, seismbonus and ecobonus came to 58.7 billion.

This is a considerable increase compared to the last updates that had been provided, and explains the government's urgent action to stop discounting and cession hypotheses in construction sites where, despite meeting the requirements, invoiced work had not yet been started.

Uncompensated 177 billion

.

Most of these credits have yet to be disposed of. The reply of the Ministry of the Economy also took a snapshot of those already subject to offsetting and thus, in fact, already used. They total 41.8 billion, of which 20.8 in 2023. Therefore, 177 billion are still missing to be compensated.
