Called the N-ONE, Honda's new city car is in fact the heir to the E. Although derived from a micro-car that in Japan falls into the so-called Kei Car sector, it has more global ambitions. It is not a Kei Car, an all-Japanese phenomenon and therefore not transferable globally, for many reasons. It is no coincidence that the N-One and should have larger dimensions as well as an adequate battery for a range in and around the city and, probably, affordable prices. There are, for now, no technical details of the car that debuted in Japan in recent days and will go on sale from September.

Compact on the outside, but spacious on the inside

The styling is original: five doors, rounded lines and circular LED headlights. The interior, on the other hand, is practical and, therefore, without the special effects of the previous E. The load compartment is modular: the seats can be lowered to stow extra-large luggage or fold down for very long objects. There are two charging flaps, both at the front: one for fast charging and the other for powering, in V2L mode, small electrical appliances or external devices such as electric bikes or laptops. Below the touchscreen is a place for smartphones.

Essential, but not quite basic

.

There are many physical controls on board, as well as a rotary volume dial that is embedded in the multimedia system screen. The transmission selector that is on the console closely resembles that of the Honda cars we are familiar with in Europe. A kind of sporty characterisation of the car for younger users is also planned. To use the V2L function you will have to buy an adapter from Honda's accessories catalogue that includes an LED indicator on the dashboard to be informed, instantly, of the battery capacity.
