How today's choices can change tomorrow's world
We all live in a context of constant change, and often we do not realise it. These are transformations that affect energy, but also technology, the environment, the way we inform ourselves and manage our relationships with others, major social phenomena such as attitudes towards disability or the fight against gender-based violence.
Changes destined to have a profound impact on society and the environment, prompting us to try to interpret them and imagine how they will evolve over time, reflecting on what actions to take today and the paths to follow, in order to be able to think about tomorrow with a positive outlook.
5 Changing contexts
1. Biodiversity
Biodiversity, defined as the variety of living organisms and their ecosystems, is an invaluable asset. The relationships between mankind and the natural environment are complex and interconnected. Learning from nature can guide us towards a sustainable balance, protecting the diversity of genetics, species and ecosystems in which we live.
2. Stereotypes and Artificial Intelligence
Stereotypes are pre-constituted opinions, the result of previous processes of generalisation and simplification, that influence our thinking, often in a subconscious manner; sometimes they help us speed up our judgement processes, other times they lead us astray. Can learning to recognise them improve the quality of our judgement and avoid perpetuating cognitive biases? Is it conceivable that we could also 'influence' artificial intelligence in this regard?
3. Renewable Energy Communities
Renewable Energy Communities represent an innovative model of energy production and consumption, based on open and local participation. These communities make it possible to benefit from the production of renewable energy, contributing to environmental and social sustainability and improving the efficiency of the national electricity system: a concrete way of doing energy together.
4. The changing language
Language, as defined by Treccani, is the complex of words and locutions used by a whole people as a common means of expression and communication. From linguistic tradition to its evolution, accelerated by new media and social dynamics, what awareness do we have of how words are changing? Words are increasing, but it is more difficult to maintain competence over their use and awareness of their power.
5. E-mobility
Electric mobility, the set of transport solutions powered by electricity - from fully electric vehicles to plug-in hybrids and conventional hybrids - is the future of sustainable transport. By reducing dependence on fossil fuels, e-mobility is not only a futuristic option, but also a current and conscious choice.
The future does not wait... we need to understand the changes and discover how today's choices can change tomorrow's world.
"Trajectories" has been created to recount these changes: a podcast that in each episode deals with one of these phenomena, following its evolution over time, analysing its current characteristics and attempting to trace the path - the trajectory, in fact - to follow in order to look to the future with optimism.
"Trajectories" stems from Sorgenia's awareness of finding itself at the crossroads of a system of changes relating to themes that have always been linked to its philosophy, which over time have deepened and become distinctive features of its identity.
Hence the idea that each episode would be hosted by a voice of Sorgenia, Miriam Frigerio, who has been Sorgenia's Head of Brand and Communication for years.
The guests in the episodes are experts in the various sectors, some of them also from Sorgenia, and they offer their experience and the point of view of those who deal with these issues on a daily basis:
