ICaur, the Chinese brand that should have been called iCar debuts in Europe
Super hybrid suv with 156 km electric range on the way
Goodbye iCar, welcome iCaur. The Chery Group debuts in Europe under a new brand name. Because if last April we told you about the iCar V23 seen live at the Shanghai Motor Show, today the brand has become iCaur and the debut model in Europe will be the V27, an over 5 metre long suv with extended range hybrid engine christened the Golden Reev. Name change aside, perhaps linked to names already filed in the past, the suv due to arrive in Europe during 2026 promises interesting performance starting with 156 kilometres that can be covered in purely electric mode thanks to its 34.3 kWh battery.
iCaur 27 4x4
While we wait to see the final technical data sheet and, more importantly, to see it in action, the iCaur 27 will be equipped with an 'intelligent' i-Awd four-wheel drive and features a boxy styling with strong references to iconic models already on the market. Designed for the outdoors, it is built to easily mount roof racks, roof tents, outdoor boxes and other equipment. The first model in a range set to grow exponentially, according to the Chinese manufacturer itself more than 200 new products will be developed each year "to expand its high-end ecosystem and transform iCaur from an automotive brand to a true lifestyle brand". Mistake, marketing department exaggeration or forthcoming invasion of the global car market?
