A new and innovative Clinical Regenerative and Immunological Dermatology Centre of national importance (Cedri). It was inaugurated, in the presence of Health Undersecretary Marcello Gemmato, by the Idi, Istituto dermopatico dell'Immacolata, a historic Roman hospital dedicated to dermatology.

Gemmato brought 'the Government's recognition for the strong signal of growth of services of the highest level, in a delicate field such as dermatology, that this new healthcare availability offers to the city of Rome but which undoubtedly has a national dimension'.

In the new facility, patients with diseases such as, among others, autoimmune dermatoses, vitiligo, urticaria, alopecias, lichen, auto-inflammatory diseases, as well as cancer patients with adverse reactions to chemotherapy and immunotherapy, will be accommodated, using a multidisciplinary approach coordinated by a dermatological 'vision'.

"The investment," said Idi's CEO, Alessandro Zurzolo, "is part of the renewal and development plan for all of the Luigi Maria Monti Foundation's facilities, which combines organised scientific knowledge and expertise with state-of-the-art technologies.

The building covers an area of 360 square metres

.

"The Cedri," Zurzolo further explains, "was also built thanks to the fundamental contribution of the Fondazione Roma, as part of the broader project for the development of precision dermatology. The building, which has two floors for a total surface area of 360 square metres, is characterised by the pleasantness of its spaces and the attention paid to the use of materials and energy efficiency: led by Dr. Laura Colonna, it is fully integrated with the hospital's other specialist and research facilities, representing excellence in dermatology, immunology, and regenerative dermatology".

The contribution of the Fondazione Roma

"With the Cedri,' said Franco Parasassi, President of the Fondazione Roma, 'we are taking another decisive step towards an increasingly personalised, predictive and human medicine. A place capable of combining innovation and attention to the person, in the spirit of the mission that has always inspired the activities of our Foundation'.

"We are proud," remarked the Chairman of Fondazione Roma, "to have contributed in a decisive way to the creation of the Centre for Clinical Regenerative Dermatology and this intervention of ours is aimed at fostering the creation of a centre of excellence in the national and international health care scenario, where the most advanced technology, multidisciplinary approach and translational research are put at the service of patients. All this represents a fundamental step in the broader project that the Fondazione Roma has launched together with the Luigi Maria Monti Foundation for the development of precision and customised dermatology within the Institute'.

Idi provides a multidisciplinary approach

.

"It is precisely the interdisciplinary approach," recalled Annarita Panebianco, Idi medical director, "that will offer us the possibility of treating these pathologies, for which, in addition to the clinical aspect, it is also important to consider the psychological impact they have on the patient. The facility's second- and third-level specialist outpatient clinics,' according to Panebianco, 'will work in close collaboration with the hospital's other dermatology departments and with the relevant research laboratories, also offering their contribution in the study and treatment of rare diseases'".

"The new centre," recalled Father Giuseppe Pusceddu, president of the Luigi Maria Monti Foundation, "has a special significance given that it was established in what was once the Vigna di San Giuseppe farmhouse, purchased in 1878 by Blessed Luigi Maria Monti, but from today, this structure houses the 'medicine of the future', always remaining at the service of the patient and the person.
