A new and innovative Clinical Regenerative and Immunological Dermatology Centre of national importance (Cedri). It was inaugurated, in the presence of Health Undersecretary Marcello Gemmato, by the Idi, Istituto dermopatico dell'Immacolata, a historic Roman hospital dedicated to dermatology.
Gemmato brought 'the Government's recognition for the strong signal of growth of services of the highest level, in a delicate field such as dermatology, that this new healthcare availability offers to the city of Rome but which undoubtedly has a national dimension'.
The main pathologies addressed in the new centre
.In the new facility, patients with diseases such as, among others, autoimmune dermatoses, vitiligo, urticaria, alopecias, lichen, auto-inflammatory diseases, as well as cancer patients with adverse reactions to chemotherapy and immunotherapy, will be accommodated, using a multidisciplinary approach coordinated by a dermatological 'vision'.
"The investment," said Idi's CEO, Alessandro Zurzolo, "is part of the renewal and development plan for all of the Luigi Maria Monti Foundation's facilities, which combines organised scientific knowledge and expertise with state-of-the-art technologies.
The building covers an area of 360 square metres
."The Cedri," Zurzolo further explains, "was also built thanks to the fundamental contribution of the Fondazione Roma, as part of the broader project for the development of precision dermatology. The building, which has two floors for a total surface area of 360 square metres, is characterised by the pleasantness of its spaces and the attention paid to the use of materials and energy efficiency: led by Dr. Laura Colonna, it is fully integrated with the hospital's other specialist and research facilities, representing excellence in dermatology, immunology, and regenerative dermatology".
