Halloween is on its way: exploring haunted places

We recommend following the Murgia Timone Viewpoint via the Tibetan Suspension Bridge.Opposite the Sassi, which remained a ghost town for decades, lies the Murgia plateau, dotted with caves, rock-hewn churches and ancient Neolithic villages, in a land where Lucanian folklore still tells of the ‘monachicchio’, the mischievous little spirit said to inhabit houses and caves. The route descends to the bottom of the Gravina, crosses it via the Tibetan suspension bridge over the stream, and climbs back up to the Murgia Timone Viewpoint, offering a spectacular view of the city carved into the rock, which is even more evocative at sunset.
