Ambrogino d'oro to Fabio Tamburini, editor of Sole 24 Ore

The journalists Enrico Mentana and Fabio Tamburini (editor of Sole 24 Ore), the presenter and singer Jo Squillo, for her commitment against violence against women, are among the personalities who will receive the Ambrogino d'oro on 7 December, the highest honour awarded by the Milan City Council on the day of the patron saint to those who have brought prestige to the city.
Among the associations to receive the award will also be ResQ - People Saving People, the NGO that rescues migrants at sea. On the other hand, the candidature for the Global Sumud Flotilla, after the numerous political controversies, had fallen through even before the confrontation. As many as 280 applications had arrived at the municipality, which were then selected by a special commission.
