Inclusion as a priority theme of all political agendas; universal accessibility; autonomous and independent living; talent enhancement and labour inclusion; promotion of new technologies; sports and recreational dimension of life; dignity of life and service dimension; prevention and management of emergency and post-emergency situations, in particular also related to climate crises.

Priorities

.

The topics of the round tables of the second day of the G7 Inclusion and Disability allowed to enter into vertical insights in order to draw the contents of the Solfagnano Charter, which will be presented today at the end of the works. Besides the representatives of the delegations of twelve countries and the ministers and ministers, the debate involved representatives of civil society, of the third sector, of medicine and of institutions. Everyone has brought their own contribution in order to design a society that puts people, with or without disabilities, at the centre.

"I believe that everyone's right to full participation in the civil, social, and political life of our country is also expressed by all working in the same direction together," commented the Minister for Disabilities, Alessandra Locatelli, continuing with regard to the Solfagnano Charter: "We are endowing ourselves with a pact that represents a reciprocal commitment on certain issues. We are also declining them in concrete aspects and I think this is a model that we must carry forward and then implement in the next G7, when we have the opportunity, in the dialogue and interchange between the different countries. This will allow us to bring the themes of the Solfagnano Charter to the attention of all our countries, but also beyond, even in the G20'.

Next Appointments

To a more global dimension aspire most of the interventions, so much so that it has been announced that the theme of disability will be central in the G20 South African presidency and the intention is to set up a specific ministerial forum. On this Fabio Ciciliano, head of Civil Protection, commented: 'This G7 could certainly be a good initial action, but if we manage to get to G205, which is the number of countries on the planet right now, and manage to do a good job for everyone we would have reached the goal. There are good practices that countries take from Italy from this point of view and there are certainly some countries that are as advanced as ours on emergency management'. Countries with which it is possible to build a network of relationships that will lead to international standards of best practice to be shared.

The employment node

.

An approach that should be applied first and foremost to employment issues, the real node that can offer a real opportunity to build a life project. Many of the ministers present at the tables insisted on employment issues, especially with a view to increasingly accelerated technological development. An area that could also create numerous jobs for people with disabilities. "From the point of view of those who deal with technology, this G7 is perhaps the best look we could have at this reality because artificial intelligence, being able to adapt to the changing reality, can make us think of a social reality that is not a limitation for those with different abilities, but that is able to include and allow everyone to express themselves to the fullest extent of that human dignity that is also at the heart of our Constitution. So let us hope that what emerges from these days will be something that will also be able to impose itself as a global standard of inclusiveness and acceptance of diversity,' says Paolo Benanti, a member of the UN New artificial intelligence advisory board.
