ItalyX certification, more than 200 participating companies. Focus on Arab markets
The initiative in support of Made in Italy promoted by Il Sole 24 Ore with Confindustria grows. Collaboration with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates
by R.I.T.
Launched in November 2023 ago with the aim of supporting the competitiveness of Italian companies in international markets, ItalyX certification has gathered in less than two years the adhesion of almost 200 companies, of which 150 are certified, representing a total turnover of more than EUR 5 billion.
The numbers of the project promoted by Il Sole 24 Ore testify to the validity of this initiative, which was born, so to speak, in unsuspected times and has now become 'urgent and necessary', as the editor-in-chief of Il Sole 24 Ore, Fabio Tamburini, said, introducing the 'ItalyX Business Matching Meeting 2025', which took place yesterday at the newspaper's headquarters. Between wars and tariffs, the international scenario has become extremely complex, with obvious impacts on global trade: 'I am confident that the imagination and inventiveness of Italian companies will allow our country to overcome this phase, but to cope with the emergency there is only one way forward, diversify markets,' Tamburini added.
A tool to diversify
And it is precisely for this purpose that initiatives such as the ItalyX certification are needed, which aims to 'make a contribution to the country system and the business world, of which Il Sole 24 Ore is an expression, by enhancing the story of the greatest heritage we have, the made in Italy,' added the managing director of Il Sole, Federico Silvestri. The numbers achieved in two years confirm that the project 'breathes and has future prospects,' added Silvestri. 'It is a path that is of interest above all to SMEs, the backbone of the Italian economy, but also to many large companies.
The numbers of the initiative
The collaboration with the Emirates
The last piece to be added, in order of time, is the collaboration between Gruppo 24 Ore and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Italy for ItalyX. The Emirates are the "second largest economy in the Arab world," recalled Abdulla Ali AlSubousi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Eau in Italy, pointing out that relations between Italy and the Emirates "are strengthening enormously: in 2023 an important strategic agreement was signed, last February 40 agreements were signed, and recently about 40 billion dollars of Emirati investment in the Italian economy was announced, on energy transition, artificial intelligence and infrastructure.
