So much technology is not always so cumbersome. It is Unihertz, an Asian manufacturer already known for having launched the world's smallest smartphone with 4G connectivity back in 2017, which, througha campaign launched on Kickstarter, is proposing a new mobile phone that does not sacrifice performance, designed to fit comfortably in the palm of one hand. Jelly Max, that's its name, is a 5G smartphone that is smaller than current models and the smallest in the world, designed to fit in your pocket without taking up too much space and to be used comfortably and easily with one hand. In a body measuring 12.8 x 6.2 x 1.6 cm and weighing a total of 180 grams, this model features a large 5.05-inch display, flanked by the Dimensity 7300 octa-core processor and 12GB of RAM, making it ready to support the latest apps and games that require more computing power. More creative users, on the other hand, will find the rear camera module equipped with a 100-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens useful while, for selfies and video calls, there is the support of a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. It offers all the features provided by Android 14 and a 256GB built-in storage space that, thanks to the hybrid SIM card slot design, can be expanded with a microSD card should it not be used in dual SIM mode. It can connect to fast 5G networks around the world and, unlike competing offerings, has an infrared sensor that turns it into a traditional remote control for controlling TVs and other everyday devices, and retains the classic 3.5 mm jack to allow the connection of earphones. Regarding security: facial recognition and a fingerprint reader protect access to unauthorised users. Although an interesting proposition, the Unihertz Jelly Max is not yet on the market, but the crowdfunding campaign has been successfully concluded during the past few days and it will soon be possible to order it through the official website for 339.99 dollars - about 360 euros. Delivery of the first units is scheduled for next October, also in Italy.
