The Kia PV7 is set to make its world debut

Kia is expanding its range of electric commercial vehicles with the PV7, the second model in the PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) family, following the PV5, which was previewed ahead of its public debut scheduled for 14 September at the 2026 IAA Transportation in Hanover. The new model expands Kia’s range in the light commercial vehicle sector, offering greater dimensions and versatility than the PV5. Kia regards the PV7 as a model capable of meeting a wider range of professional needs, whilst also being suitable for leisure use. The new model is therefore positioned above the PV5, offering more space and greater versatility.

Future variants of the model will also aim to further expand the range’s capabilities, based on a strategy that does not focus on a single configuration, but rather on producing vehicles capable of meeting a variety of needs. In this regard, the first preview images already reveal some of the features that will characterise the Kia PV7. The bodywork features a one-box design with proportions designed to offer robustness without compromising on a balanced silhouette. The bonnet and the black trim on the pillars contrast with the body colour. All these details draw inspiration from the design cues typical of the road cars in Kia’s range.

The front and rear will be further defined by the signature lighting elements, designed to maintain a stylistic link with the other models in the PBV family.

Despite the project’s commercial focus, Kia appears intent on establishing a distinct identity from an aesthetic perspective as well, avoiding the PV7 being treated merely as a work vehicle. Under the bodywork, in fact, will lie the dedicated E-GMP.S platform, which already underpins the brand’s PBV strategy. Furthermore, the PV7 has been designed exclusively as an electric vehicle and is the second PBV model following the launch of the PV5, but it is set to occupy a leading position within the range of the Korean brand’s future vehicles as well.

Kia has not yet provided details on specifications such as power output, battery capacity, range or model variants: all this information will be revealed at the global launch. The choice of a specific platform is particularly significant in view of the future expansion of the range. The PV7 and its subsequent variants will, in fact, help to broaden Kia’s range of electric vehicles aimed at businesses and various commercial applications. On 14 September, Kia will officially unveil the PV7 as a world premiere in Hanover at the IAA Transportation, the sector’s leading trade fair, which, once again this year, provides the platform for manufacturers to unveil their latest innovations.
