Kia revives the family car with the K4 Sportswagon. It will arrive in Italy in 2026
The Korean brand expands its model range with a family car that has been missing. It will go on sale here in late 2026 or early 2027 at the latest.
Kia adds another model, the new K4 Sportswagon, to a range that is ever widening. The latest addition is a family car that returns to the Korean brand's expanded offering. As well as being an interesting alternative to the many suvs on the road, it is only available in automatic transmission and only full hybrid versions, the most up-to-date at the moment.
It will complement the 5-door variant
The K4 Sportswagon is 4.70 metres long. As a result, it is also destined to become an alternative to the more traditional compact wagon. Equipped with hybrid-only engines, it will also go on sale in Europe, including Italy, at the earliest by the end of 2026, aligning itself alongside the five-door body variant with prices made official shortly before it goes on sale.
The load capacity is industry-leading
Accredited with a wide 2720-metre wheelbase that translates mainly into 166 litres more luggage space, it boasts a load capacity of up to 604 litres with all seats in place. And we come to the design of the new Sportswagon, which reintroduces some details of the latest Kia with clean surfaces and taut lines coexisting with softer elements.
The GT-Line version is in sportier mode
The front and rear of the car are well characterised as they also emphasise the width of the car, while the daytime running lights follow the now familiar light signature typical of all new-generation Kia cars. In the top version, the GT-Line, there are also customised details that accentuate a certain sporty character of the new Korean family car.
Inside there is a large panoramic display
Inside, the K4 Sportswagon features a dashboard that is dominated by a panoramic display that integrates two displays, one 12.3 inches for the instrumentation and the other for infotainment. The Connected Car Navigation Cockpit is able to support remote updates and wireless connectivity is enabled thanks to the two systems Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
