At the Frankfurt headquarters of Kia Europe, we drove the fifth-generation update of the Kia Sportage, the flagship model of Kia's strategy, which adds style and technology as well as one of the most comprehensive engine ranges on the automotive scene, including the trifuel version, coming in the next few months, exclusive to the Italian market and produced in collaboration with Brc.
Kia family style and character
.Produced at the Zilina plant in Slovakia, the Kia Sportage displays the styling characteristics typical of the Korean brand, where the 'Opposites United' design philosophy is evident. Smooth, soft surfaces are combined with strong shapes and an important road presence, giving the C-Suv a multifaceted character. New bumpers, both front and rear, outline a strong silhouette, complemented by attractive LED Star Map lighting and the distinctive Kia tiger nose front end. A new specific wheel design is offered in 17-, 18- and 19-inch sizes, with exclusive versions for the GT-Line in the 19-inch size.
Built on the Hyundai Group's 'N3' platform, the restyled Sportage retains the dimensions of the fifth generation for 2021, 4,540 mm long, 1,865 mm wide, 1,645 mm high and with a wheelbase of 2,680 mm. Maximum load capacity is the prerogative of the Mild Hybrid version: 587 litres, which becomes 1,776 litres by folding down the rear seatback.
Essential and complete interior
.The interior offers an elegant cockpit with ample space for every passenger. The steering wheel features an all-new two-spoke design that lends sportiness to the cabin, while the updated upper part of the dashboard and integrated air diffusers lend a sleek, minimalist connotation.
