Sustainable innovation in the world of events
Even in events, people and their needs must be at the centre of respectful ecosystems capable of looking to the future (and governing it)

As the creative director of Newton Group, I set out to define new boundaries. We are accustomed to conceiving of boundaries 'in the European way', as dividing lines where my space separates from yours (and it is better if you don't fit in). But there are other worlds, other cultures, other disciplines, where borders become meeting spaces and lines are rivers to which we entrust stories, traditions, hopes. In these lines and furrows, which I draw with charcoal on blank sheets of paper when it is time to imagine the concept of an event, a new dimension of sustainability is also defined in the specific field of events.
It is easy to talk about sustainable events, but it is no longer a question of just talking about ecology, but of a new way of thinking, of acting, of building, which aims at overcoming sustainability as a simple concern for the environment, in favour of a set of attentions to circularity and human sustainability.
I would like to say that in this liquid and fragmented time, as Newton Group we have managed in our own small way to redefine our own corporate events landscape, integrating training, events and communication into unique immersive experiences, in which sustainability (especially human) plays an essential role.
Foundations of Sustainability: a Tripod of Values
At Newton Group, sustainability is not an option but a prerequisite. Our three-dimensional approach - environmental, social and economic - is reflected in every project we carry out. We see sustainability as a pillar on which to build the future: every initiative is developed with the aim of reducing the environmental impact and increasing the emotional component. The 'Global Inclusion art. 3 Committee' - born thanks to the creativity and sensitivity of Andrea Notarnicola Cociani, together with distinguished members of the community - wants to be a tangible testimony of a commitment to social inclusion and diversity. We have therefore enriched our offer with projects that embrace sustainability at 360 degrees, such as the initiative Design for all: design as a constitutional project. The Global Inclusion - Art. 3 Committee, together with Sole 24Ore, will present Design for All 2024, a project aimed at mobilising the design ecosystem for the concrete realisation of the principles of Art. 3 of the Italian Constitution. It is not the only way, but it is the one we have chosen to participate in the improvement not only of the events system, but of the world: to realise events that put people, their needs, at the centre, in a respectful ecosystem.
We are also aware of how important it is to propose economically sustainable solutions: we co-create events and projects that respect the environment and resources, aiming to design a balance between business growth and the duty to preserve the environment and social fabric for future generations.
