Lazio, the Simplified Logistics Zone officially launched to boost the economy and employment
The decree signed by the government activates the LSZ, a key tool for attracting investment, simplifying procedures and strengthening the regional production and logistics system.
With the signing of the decree by the undersecretary Mantovano, Lazio's Simplified Logistics Zone (ZSL) is officially born. This is a strategic step, strongly desired by the regional administration led by Francesco Rocca, aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of the territory, promoting investments in the regional production system, and creating new and significant opportunities in the employment field. The Lazio FTA includes 49 municipalities. The main ones listed are: Civitavecchia, Fiumicino, Rome, Latina, Rieti, Viterbo, Frosinone and Cassino.
climate favourable to growth
"With the signature of undersecretary Mantovano on the Zls, Lazio can finally activate an extraordinary lever for the development of its territories. This is an eagerly awaited measure, which we have prepared with capillary work of comparison with the local authorities, trade associations, and trade unions. Providing the region with a simplified logistics zone means creating a favourable climate for the growth of the existing productive fabric and the birth of new companies, which will be able to enjoy incentives and facilitated development paths. Thanks to this tool, Lazio's industrial areas will increasingly interact with the port areas, creating that virtuous circle that will ensure lasting prosperity in the dozens of municipalities involved and provide a further boost to macroeconomic data, which have already recorded significant increases in this 2025, first and foremost in exports and GDP," said the President of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca.
The tax credit dedicated to Zls
"The signing of the decree by the government officially establishing Lazio's Simplified Logistics Zone represents a historic result for our region. It finally closes a path that began many years ago and remained at a standstill for too long, and opens a new, concrete and operational phase that will give Lazio fundamental competitive tools to attract investments, foster the development of the territories, and strengthen the regional logistics system. A particularly significant element is the introduction, desired by the Meloni Government, of the tax credit dedicated to the Zls, which further reinforces the attractiveness of the area and offers companies a concrete incentive to invest, innovate and create new jobs," added the Councillor for Budget and Economic Planning of the Lazio Region, Giancarlo Righini.
Project implementation
"Thanks to the decisive impulse of this Council, to the coordinated work with local authorities and state administrations, and to the strong cooperation with the Port System Authority, today Lazio finally has a strategic tool that can really affect regional economic growth. In the Regional Department for Economic Planning we have already activated an area dedicated to the FTA, which will accompany the implementation of the project and guarantee constant monitoring of simplifications, procedures and new opportunities for businesses and territories," continued Councillor Righini.
