Meloni: Acquaroli wins, voters reward his work

"Francesco Acquaroli won the regional elections in Le Marche, confirming himself as president. The voters have rewarded a person who has worked tirelessly for his region and its citizens in recent years. I am certain that he will continue his commitment with the same passion and determination. Congratulations Francesco and good work'. Thus on social media Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council and leader of FdI.

Salvini: Marche people responded to left-wing polemics

To the insults and polemics of the left, the people of the Marche have given a clear answer: thank you,' said League leader and deputy prime minister Matteo Salvini.

Acquaroli: won with a united and cohesive ruling class

The newly elected governor of Marche, Francesco Acquaroli, arrived at the election committee accompanied by Arianna Meloni. The veittoria's dedication went to the premier, 'the first of all who believed in me'. "I thank our ruling class, of the Marche centre-right, which has been united and cohesive in the challenge of a land. In these five years we have begun to tackle the problems in depth, seeking discontinuity. It has been an important job'. These were the first words of Francesco Acquaroli, after being reconfirmed as president of Marche.

Ricci: we knew it was complicated, I gave it everything

"We knew it was a very complicated battle, and I accepted with a great spirit of service the call that so many people - from the party to the coalition - made to me. I put myself at the disposal of this project, even knowing that the road was uphill and that we had a very complex battle ahead of us. But I did it with great generosity, I put in everything and more. I gave 200% of what I could give, and I think that showed,' Ricci commented at the press conference.

Schlein: united commitment continues with determination

We knew it would not be easy in Le Marche, where the centre-right had already been governing for five years. We put in a lot of effort, but this time it was not enough, and I thank all the candidates and those who worked hard in the election campaign. Now we have five more regions to vote in until the end of November and our united commitment with the progressive coalition alongside our candidates continues with great determination,' said PD secretary Elly Schlein

Conte: in Marche our proposal did not convince voters

The ballot box response in the Marche region rewards continuity with the outgoing president Acquaroli. We offered the citizens of the Marche region a serious alternative proposal to bring about change. We have to take note that this proposal did not convince the majority of voters, just as we have to take note that the turnout has dropped significantly, a very worrying fact that undermines the quality of our democracy at its roots and must make us all reflect'. This M5s leader Giuseppe Conte in a statement.

Seven regions on the ballot

There are seven regions where voting will take place this autumn: Calabria, Campania, Marche, Puglia, Tuscany, Valle d'Aosta and Veneto. It started with Valle d'Aosta on 28 September and Marche (28 and 29 September). Then it is the turn of Calabria (5 and 6 October) and Tuscany (12 and 13 October). In Campania, Veneto and Apulia, the dates chosen are 23 and 24 November. The outcome of the vote in the Marches and Valle d'Aosta may act as a driving force in the other territories.
