He has done a masterpiece. First he became the favourite target of Donald Trump's global opponents who, for lack of a better way, stopped buying Tesla cars, and now he has also entered the crosshairs of the US president's supporters. He, Elon Musk, in the middle of the storm, the shares of his Tesla in the chaos of sales: shares down 16% during the Wall Street session, just a little better at the close. And all this may just be the beginning, because the electric car manufacturer finds itself on Wall Street with a price/earnings ratio of 161 with falling sales and the brand irreparably damaged by Musk's uncontrolled statements.

Sales slump: -70%

.

In short, if Tesla's valuation on Wall Street is discounting future growth that has yet to be built, the global market is going in the opposite direction and giving worrying signals.

Sales also plummeted in May: in Portugal, -68% compared to May 2024, with just 292 units.
In France, Tesla's second European market, the drop was 67%, the worst result since 2021. Sweden -53.7%, Denmark -30.5%. In the Netherlands, -36%, and in Spain -29% with 794 vehicles.

An injury linked now to pro-Alternative für Deutschland positions in the German elections, now to unhinged aggression, to anti-European positions. Invasions into the world of foreign policy which, regardless of positions, have certainly not helped the carmaker

Politics

He, Elon Musk, after a few weeks of Tesla's share price meltdowns also seemed to want to take a step back from politics. At least he had said so. For a few days, the market even believed it and made the group's share price on the stock exchange rebound. Then the new fireworks: 'Time to drop the biggest bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in Epstein's files. This is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a great day, DJT!" wrote Elon Musk on X, after his public spat with US President Donald Trump.

And again: "Is it time to create a new political party in America that truly represents 80 per cent of the population of the middle?", Musk asks on X, after the 'divorce' with Donald Trump, launching a poll on social, where followers can answer for 24 hours.

Hard to see where this is going. These certainly don't sound like positions that will help Tesla's sales

Maybe this third US pole will buy his cars? We will see. For now, Trump has already threatened to cut his companies' contracts with the US administration. And while waiting for some car buyers to come along, the market sells Tesla
