The partnership between Franciacorta bubbles and the Michelin Guide is doubled. Franciacorta, in fact, is already Destination Partner of the Michelin Guide in Italy since 2021 and now becomes exclusive Sparkling Wine Partner of the Michelin Guide ceremonies in the United States where, among other things, it is already sponsor of the Sommelier of the Year Awards for the next three years.
The new collaboration will start with the Michelin Guide Ceremony scheduled in California when the new Californian stars will be revealed. During the event, guests will have the opportunity to taste and discover the different types of Franciacorta, while the newly awarded chefs will toast on stage with Lombardy's DOCG bubbles.
The initiative consolidates the marketing strategy put in place by Italian sparkling wines (the real driver of Made in Italy wine exports in recent years) to strengthen their reputation abroad. A strategy that has seen Cantine Ferrari become the official sparkling wine of the Formula 1 World Championship, Prosecco Doc enter into a partnership with the Motomondiale and now Franciacorta Docg enter into this collaboration with Guida Michelin, a true global reference point for quality catering.

A new initiative that also comes to seal a positive market trend. "The year 2023 closed with sales of 19.5 million bottles and a 2.8% increase in turnover," explains the President of the Consortium of Franciacorta Docg, Silvano Brescianini. "These results were achieved, moreover, at a time when average prices were up by 6.4%. Sales, however, are 83.8% in Italy and only 16.3% from exports. We therefore have a lot of ground to cover. We are a small appellation with limited production, and abroad we focus on the great quality catering that can help us reach a consumer attentive to food and wine excellence. In particular, the agreement with Guida Michelin in the US can foster a privileged relationship with sommeliers and wine directors of starred restaurants, making them passionate about Franciacorta so that they can tell and make them taste our wines to an ever larger number of consumers. Franciacorta is perfect paired with the entire meal, a wine therefore not only for great occasions but to be enjoyed with both traditional Italian dishes and the various international cuisines".

"The Michelin Guide," added the International Director of The Michelin Guides, Gwendal Poullennec, "not only has partners, but also associates itself with brands that share the same values and objectives, in order to tell high-impact stories and create a meaningful story for professionals and food lovers alike. Like other iconic wine regions such as France, Spain, California, South Africa and Australia, Italy satisfies wine lovers with the diversity of its vineyards, shaped by the country's rich biodiversity, and Franciacorta is a great example of this. For us, collaborating with Franciacorta also means working with a brand that is deeply rooted in its territory, synonymous with excellence of flavour and a testament to craftsmanship".
