Migrants: 3 arrivals in Lampedusa carrying 108 people

Emergency services
Patrol boats from the Guardia di Finanza and the Harbour Master’s Office, meanwhile, rescued first 28 Eritreans and Sudanese, and then 23 migrants of the same nationalities and from Somalia, who had set sail from Sabratha and Zwara in Libya respectively.
Transfers to the hotspot
They were all taken to the reception centre in the Imbriacola district, where there are currently 191 refugees.
A further 39 arrivals on Saturday
On Saturday 8 August, 39 migrants, including one woman and one child, disembarked on the island after the 10-metre boat on which they were travelling was rescued by the Finance Police patrol boat V1104. They reported that they had set sail from Zwara in Libya, paying between 4,000 and 6 dollars, and that they were originally from Bangladesh, Egypt, Pakistan and Somalia.
One hundred arrivals on Thursday
On Thursday 6 August, however, a hundred migrants disembarked on Lampedusa after Frontex and coastguard patrol boats rescued two rubber dinghies and a 7-metre boat. Two of the vessels had set sail from Khoms and Tajura in Libya, whilst the other had set sail from Sfax in Tunisia. Most of the migrants said they wanted to stay in Italia, whilst others said they wanted to reach Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
