The caravan reached Tuscany. The splendid cars built between 1927 and 1957 set off in the morning from Turin towards Acqui Terme along a route that was not too exciting. While the route that led from the time control in Acqui Terme to the Ligurian capital, the mid-day stage of the event, was highly appreciated.

The cars had to pass through and wade through classic Genoa traffic to reach Tuscany. The passage through Piazza Aranci in Massa was evocative and very heartfelt, as was the stamping on the Viareggio seafront.

The weather alternated between moments of drizzle and fog and bright, warm sunshine.

Driving the compact AMG sports car today, we appreciated its sensitivity. Given the difference in the routes we faced, we "played" in changing driving modes frequently. This allowed us to appreciate the car's sensitivity to the accelerator pedal. Very sensitive in Race mode while smoother in power delivery in Comfort. Moreover, given the drizzle that fell on some stretches, we tried to exploit the car's 421 hp even on wet and slippery surfaces. In this case, given the presence of ESP even in Race mode (if not specifically removed), the car remains manageable and suitable even for the less experienced.

Finally, in the sections where we enjoyed the warm June sun, we opened the canopy and this is well designed to avoid turbulence.

Tomorrow the third stage of the Mille Miglia will see the first car leave Viareggio as early as 6.15 a.m. for Lucca. The arrival in the evening is expected in the capital.
