The caravan of the 1000 Miglia has arrived in Turin. A demanding first stage, especially due to traffic, saw the crews pass from Brescia to Turin. The start in the Lombardy city was attended by numerous enthusiasts who were not deterred by the pouring rain that fell a few minutes before 12.30, the starting time of the first car.
An unusual route, the one the crews faced, which did not meet with much enthusiasm, mainly due to the uncongenial timetable, mainly in the vicinity of Milan, in the heart of Brianza's industry. Not exactly a good calling card the passage through Milan's eastern ring road for the foreign crews, who might have preferred to pass through beautiful Italian locations. Difficult and full of stops for the historic cars, often stopped to cool down the high engine temperatures, remember that these are cars cooled, for the most part, by air.
Always warmly welcomed by the citizens, however, who, from the youngest to the most veteran, flocked in large numbers to watch the caravan pass by.
First impressions of the AMG A45 S
After about 200 kilometres on board the Mercedes AMG sports car, we can say that it is popular with the public, perhaps because of its bright yellow colour, or perhaps because of its aggressive aesthetics.
In city centres you can feel the stiffness of the suspension, which makes it very precise to drive. The rumble changes noticeably by switching driving modes, in Race the rumble is darker and 'meaner'. While for a more 'sober' ride, Comfort mode allows you to cruise (almost) like an A-class. Although, when you step on the accelerator, it immediately lets you know it has character, putting its 421 horsepower to the ground.
