Milleproroghe, the House gave the go-ahead with 154 yes votes. Stop to increases in traffic fines
The measure with the 'Urgent provisions on regulatory deadlines' passes to the Senate for consideration
Key points
The House of Representatives gave the go-ahead to the 'Milleproroghe' decree with 154 yes, 64 no and 4 abstentions. The text, which provides for, among other things, the extension of the criminal shield for doctors, a stop to increases in road fines and the extension of hiring bonuses, now passes to the Senate for second reading. The final vote came after the House had approved the government's confidence question to give the go-ahead to the measure, in the text identical to the one approved with amendments by the Constitutional Affairs and Budget Committees, with 177 yes votes to 93 against (and 3 abstentions).
Senate passage
The measure with the 'Urgent Provisions on Regulatory Deadlines' will then go to the Senate, where it must be converted into law by 1 March (thus excluding the possibility of further corrections).
17 articles
In 17 articles (entrusted to the paragraphs of the single article of the conversion bill), the decree intervenes on a wide range of deadlines of interest to the Presidency of the Council and the individual ministries, such as the determination of the Lep, the confirmation of commissioner appointments or international commitments, such as the holding of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics. Moreover, the text was enriched in the final stages of the examination by the Commissions with weighty changes, the result of the approval of amendments by the majority and oppositions, mostly reworded (while many other corrections, from both sides, even with positive opinions from the executive, remained cut out of the vote due to the lengthening of the time of the debate in the referent seat).
Here are some of the upcoming extensions.
Medical Criminal Shield
The protection, which provides that only cases of gross negligence for the offences of manslaughter and culpable personal injury in situations of serious shortage of health personnel will last another year, will be punished.
