Moncler opens its largest shop in New York
Located on Fifth Avenue, it covers 2,200 square metres and will offer special services and collections, as well as a brand-new bespoke atelier. Ruffini: “It will be a place of inspiration, open to the community.”
As announced and eagerly awaited, the new flagship store Moncler in New York – the Italian group’s largest in the world – has been opened at 767 Fifth Avenue, in the historic General Motors Building, just a stone’s throw from Central Park.
“Moncler Fifth Avenue is a brand statement on one of the world’s most iconic streets. We have conceived it as a vibrant space, inspired by the culture and spirit of New York, whilst remaining true to Moncler’s DNA,” says Remo Ruffini, Executive Chairman of Moncler. “ A place where you can experience the energy of New York, its communities and the people who make this city unique. That is the meaning behind this project. The Fifth Avenue store is not just our largest flagship in the world; our ambition is to become part of the fabric of this city, a ‘destination’ for those who live in New York, for travellers and for those who come here in search of inspiration.”
Moncler had already set its sights on the United States – which remains the world’s leading luxury market and is continuing to grow – by organising an event at Aspen last January, to showcase its latest Grenoble collection. The New York store – designed by the group’s long-standing partner firm, Gilles & Boissier, which spans 2,200 square metres across two levels – is conceived not only as a retail outlet but also as an events hub, open to the community, with a monthly programme of experiential events, alongside exclusive collections, services and initiatives designed specifically for Fifth Avenue.
