Italian Mundys rises to 25% of Channel Tunnel capital
The Edizione-controlled group that manages motorway and airport concessions has exercised its right to increase its stake in Getlink
It was expected but now it has happened. Mundys, the group controlled by Edizione and Blackstone that manages motorway and airport concessions and provides mobility services, has exercised its right to increase its stake in Getlink to 25% of the share capital and 29.9% of the voting rights. The company announced this in a statement. The transaction was carried out 'through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Aero 1 Global & International'.
A transaction that has already received the green light from the authorities and coincides with signs of improvement in Getlink's business and market expectations. The group is increasingly likely to meet or exceed consensus expectations for the year, says Ruairi Cullinane, analyst at RBC Capital Markets in a note.
The French railway company's revenues beat the company's own consensus, supported by its subsidiary Eleclink, which operates the electrical interconnection between the UK and France.
