Nursery bonus: the national database of approved nurseries is now up and running

The national database of childcare centres participating in the nursery bonus scheme is now up and running. The INPS announced this, adding that local authorities are required, in accordance with the procedures set out in Circular 93 of 9 September, to update this database in collaboration with the INPS.

The social security body will use this database to create a geolocated map of facilities available for children up to thirty-six months old in the coming weeks on the parenting portal: a service designed to guide and support parents in making this important decision.

By 1 September, local authorities must provide the INPS with the tax code and other identifying details of the public and private organisations holding the licence to carry out activities relating to the provision of early years education services.

To collect, organise, update and make the identifying details of early years education facilities available for consultation, INPS uses the application known as ‘Agenda Asili Nido’. The Agenda, explains the social security body, already contains information relating to the 2025/2026 school year provided to the Institute by the Regions and the relevant local authorities; this information can therefore be accessed and, where necessary, updated within the application itself.

The INPS clarifies that, with effect from the 2027/2028 academic year, subject to the necessary adjustments to the PDND (National Digital Data Platform) service made available by the Institute, any entry or update of data relating to educational establishments must be carried out using the interoperability services made available by INPS via the platform. From that year onwards, therefore, the following must be managed via the PDND: the registration of new educational establishments; changes to the identifying details of educational establishments already registered; updates to data relating to the operating body; the notification of new authorisations or accreditations; the notification of suspensions, terminations or revocations of operating licences; and any further changes to the information contained in the ‘Agenda Asili Nido’. Consequently, from the 2027/2028 school year, the standard channel for entering and updating data is the PDND, in accordance with the technical specifications published by the Institute. The data collected in the ‘Agenda Asili Nido’ is made available to the Technical Commission for Standard Requirements.
