The American Nvidia group has announced the resumption of sales in China of an advanced chip for artificial intelligence. The announcement comes on the eve of a visit to Beijing by its CEO, Jensen Huang. "Nvidia has applied to resume sales of the Nvidia H20Gpu. The US government has assured Nvidia that licences will be granted and Nvidia expects to begin deliveries shortly," the company said in a statement.

This announcement comes as Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is expected to attend the opening ceremony of the third China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing on Wednesday, according to state broadcaster Cctv.

The news was given on Monday evening in a post on the company's blog, and Huang also spoke about the coup on Chinese state television in a speech broadcast on X. "The US government has assured Nvidia that the licenses will be granted and Nvidia hopes to start deliveries soon," the post read. "I announce that the US government has approved our licensing request to start shipping H20s," Huang told reporters in Beijing. He pointed out that half of the world's Ia researchers are in China. "China is such an innovative and dynamic country that it is really important for American companies to be able to compete and serve the Chinese market," he said.

Huang recently met with Trump and other US politicians and is in Beijing this week to attend a supply chain conference and speak to Chinese officials. The report showed Huang meeting with Ren Hongbin, head of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, a guest at the China International Supply Chain Expo, which Huang was attending. Nvidia is one of the exhibitors.
