OK for the Mila-Brimi merger: Latteria Sudtirol, a 480 million turnover biggie, is born

The decision was expected, but today the official go-ahead came with the vote of the shareholders' meeting: the merger between Mila and Brimi officially gave birth to the Dairy South Tyrol, a big one that, adding up the latest balance sheet figures for 2025, generates a value of over 480 million euro (331, 1 for Latte Montagna Alto Adige - Mila and over 148 for Centro Latte Bressanone - Brimi).
"The delegates of Latte Montagna Alto Adige (Mila) today approved the merger with Centro Latte Bressanone (Brimi) at the Ordinary Delegate Assembly, achieving the required majority. With this historic step,' reads a note, 'one of the most important dairy cooperatives in Italia is born.
The new entity in fact brings together some 3,100 member farms, 750 employees and an annual quantity of milk delivered of more than 275 million kilograms. The product range extends from fresh milk, yoghurt, mascarpone, cheese and butter to mozzarella and ricotta: 'all with the quality and South Tyrolean origin that has always distinguished both cooperatives,' the note adds.
'Our members made a courageous and far-sighted decision today. We are going down this road together,' said Joachim Reinalter, President of Latte Montagna Alto Adige, 'with clear values, established brands and a solid common foundation.
Klaus Faller, President of Centro Latte Bressanone, added: 'With today's yes vote our members have given us a vote of confidence and laid the foundation for a stable future. Our clear goal will now be to meet the expectations of our members.
