Wave of almost 600 Ukrainian drones over Russia: four dead
Zelensky had promised new retaliatory attacks on Friday, after the Russian raid on Kiev that reportedly left 24 dead and around 50 wounded
A large wave of around 600 Ukrainian drones struck Russian territory during the night, killing four people, three in the Moscow region and one in the Belgorod region.
This was stated by the Russian Defence Ministry, according to which the air defence shot down 556 drones during the night in different areas of the country, while another 30 were neutralised after dawn. This would be, according to Moscow, one of the largest Ukrainian attacks since the beginning of the conflict.
The interceptions, far exceeding the dozens recorded in previous raids, affected 14 Russian regions, in addition to the annexed Crimea and the Black and Azov Sea areas. Among the most affected areas is the area around the capital.
On the political front, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had promised new retaliatory attacks on Friday, after the Russian raid on Kiev that reportedly left 24 dead and around 50 wounded.
"Our responses to Russia's prolongation of the war and attacks on our cities and communities are completely justified. This time, drones have reached the Moscow region, and we are clearly telling the Russians: their country must end the war,' Zelensky claimed on Telegram.
