To reorganise in order to protect, enhance and grow: with this objective the Piacenza family announces the birth of the Piacenza Group, in which both the company and the family brand - thus Lanificio Fratelli Piacenza and Piacenza 1733 - and the textile companies of excellence in the Piedmontese district taken over in recent years are united: Lanificio Piemontese, Lanificio F.lli Cerruti since 1881, Arte Tessile and Filatura Cardata Lanefil Srl, the latter acquired in November 2023.
The announcement was made at the inauguration of the new edition of Milano Unica. The Piacenza Group has a new logo, which evokes the thistle flower symbol of the Biella company's history but makes it more stylised and contemporary, as well as the long history of the wool mill founded in Pollone in 1733: "We wanted to pay homage to the origins of our history, to the raw material, a fundamental element of our reality," comments Vasiliy Piacenza, co-ad of the group and fourth generation of the founding family. - After extensive research in the family archives and documents, we found old photographs of the Lanificio Scuola Felice Piacenza, founded in 1911 to train local workers.
We were fascinated by the many symbols of the wool industry depicted on the facade of the school, including a woollen bobbin and the monogram of the Lanificio Scuola. Both symbols were given a makeover that stylised the shapes and was inspired by the typeface of a well-known Piedmontese typographer. We believe it can be a trademark capable of adapting to new contexts, a spokesperson for a strong link with the group's roots'.
"The acquisitions have allowed us to verticalise our operations more and more, making us fast and capable of responding reactively to the needs of the market, and of course we have chosen to operate at a strategic level as a group, working in all realities in an integrated manner, enhancing the peculiarities of the companies and maintaining the valuable workforce. Today we make being a group official,' the manager continues. Thanks to verticalisation, the group is able to control the entire production cycle, from the selection of raw materials to the production of the finished product, thus guaranteeing quality and traceability. At the launch of the new initiative, the brand's fifth sustainability report was also presented.
