Claudia Conte case, Piantedosi mandates a lawyer. Opposition: government to clarify
Giorgia Meloni asked the interior minister himself for an explanation and obtained reassurances on the matter. Full confidence from FdI
Opening a political case is the relationship between Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi and Claudia Conte, which the journalist-writer mentioned in an interview.
If the opposition is asking for clarification through Elly Schlein, the issue was already handled with caution yesterday at Palazzo Chigi.
Giorgia Meloni reportedly asked the interior minister about this in the afternoon, at the end of a previously scheduled meeting on security and migrants, and he reassured her as guaranteed by the executive. But the alarm still remains high, judging by the mood in the majority.
From Piantedosi mandate to a lawyer
From the Viminale a no comment on the affair. In the meantime, Piantedosi has already given a mandate to a lawyer: the line is that there has never been any favouritism, appointments, favours or interest from the minister towards anyone, and those who claim otherwise will answer for it in the appropriate fora. For the rest, it is reported, the Minister of the Interior is regularly at work and his agenda is unchanged.
'At the moment I prefer silence, I only remember my professional skills of about ten years,' Claudia Conte writes in a short message sent to the Ansa agency.
