Porsche is cutting a further 4,000 jobs

The further staff cuts announced by sports car manufacturer Porsche could result in the loss of a further 4,000 jobs. This is according to the newspaper *Handelsblatt*. According to the article, employees in management and administrative roles would be particularly affected. At the Weissach development centre, around 30 per cent of the workforce will be subject to review. When asked by dpa, a Porsche spokesperson declined to confirm the exact number of jobs affected, but referred to a wide-ranging package of measures, currently being drawn up, aimed at streamlining the company. The package is expected to be presented by the end of July.
