Pozzolo off the road in his SUV in the Biella region: alcohol test positive

The Honourable Emanuele Pozzolo ended up off the road along the highway linking Biella and Vigliano. The accident occurred in the afternoon of Tuesday 2 June: the former member of the Fratelli d'Italia party, now a member of the Futuro Nazionale party, was driving his Mercedes when he lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road. The fire brigade and 118 personnel were on the scene.

Pozzolo was alone inside the vehicle, exited independently and was not seriously injured. He was subjected to an alcohol test, which - according to information - revealed a blood alcohol level twice the permitted level. In October last year, the MP who now sits in the Italian Chamber of Deputies in the mixed group had been sentenced to one-year-and-three-months sentence for unlawful carrying of a collectible weapon, in connection with the famous New Year's Eve shooting affair at the Pro Loco of Rosazza, during a party attended by the undersecretary of Justice, Andrea Delmastro, his escort officers and other local politicians. During the evening, a pistol shot from a Pozzolo mini-revolver hit the escort's son-in-law, Luca Campana, in the leg. The MP had been suspended from Fratelli d'Italia after the affair.
