Radio 24: Belmondo, Carfagna, Carone, Cartabia guests on Friends and foes
Political news from the security package to Roberto Vannacci's split, the role of the Constitutional Courts in our democracy and the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in the Saturday 7 February 2026 episode
Saturday 7 February, from 8.30 to 10am, Radio 24 returns Friends and foes, with Marianna Aprile and Daniele Bellasio.
The guests on the programme will be Stefania Belmondo (former cross-country skier, winner of ten Olympic medals, last torchbearer at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, torchbearer at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Games and tonight host of the live television broadcast of the opening of the Games), Mara Carfagna (MP, secretary of Noi Moderati, former Minister for Equal Opportunities and Minister for the South and Territorial Cohesion), Marta Cartabia (former Minister of Justice in the Draghi government and the first woman elected president of the Italian Constitutional Court, today ordinary professor of Italian and European Constitutional Law at the Bocconi University in Milan), Martina Carone (among other things, communications director of Quorum/Youtrend and professor of Media Analysis at the University of Padua).
After the usual opening editorials, from around 8.45 am Mara Carfagna will be the programme's guest. With her, the presenters will discuss the most important domestic political events of the week, starting with the recent security package passed by the government and Roberto Vannacci's departure from the League.
Then, from around 9.05 a.m., it will be time for YouTRE, the polls without numbers in three minutes with which, every week, thanks to the collaboration with YouTrend we explain the impact on the electorate of the most recent political events. In this episode the poll will be presented by Martina Carone.
Immediately afterwards, from 9.10 a.m. Aprile and Bellasio will discuss with Marta Cartabia the separation of powers and the role of constitutional courts in democracies. Themes, these, at the heart of Cartabia's latest book, entitled Custodi della democrazia. La Costituzione, le corte e i confini del politico (Egea, 2026).
