Digital and technology to do business in the name of disruptive innovation, a new methodology that subverts business models, companies and markets, and which, by leveraging technological acceleration, imparts radical changes in the real world.
Exponential Transformation
.A wave of innovation, born from an idea of a former Yahoo manager, with striking examples on a planetary level (Google, Netflix, Tesla, Uber for example), that has reached Calabria: Replanet, for just over a year, has been experiencing a path of exponential transformation: the company, based in Cosenza and operating hub in Rende, provides integrated energy services and deals with energy management and communities that produce, exchange and consume energy from renewable sources. But it has chosen to grow according to a different approach, "and new dynamics, creative and technological at the same time", explains Francesco Derchi, who teaches Digital Business at the Geneva Business School and who accompanies companies around the world on their path of exponential transformation. Among the many there is also Replanet: 'We are talking about a small company with interesting elements. It is not only the desire to make turnover that drives the company,' explains Derchi, 'but the desire to focus on values, identity and purpose, people, processes and growth. This is how a company's potential is affected, its vision, actions, social impact. This already happens in the sprint phase when a coach supports all personnel to stimulate their potential. After all, exponential transformation is first and foremost a process of democratisation, cutting through bureaucracy and vertical organisational levels'.
New Business Paradigms
.An approach that Kevin Pratticò, engineer and sole director of Replanet, found perfectly suited to his spirit as an entrepreneur. "Our company, with a turnover of 3 million, 15 employees, collaborations with universities and research bodies,' he emphasises, 'has changed paradigm by setting out on an introspective path, tracing its Massive Transformative Purpose, that is, its polar star, what guides us, what involves us, the ultimate goal of our enterprise. Which is to make this planet environmentally sustainable, guaranteeing future generations a cleaner world, starting with our lifestyles. The economic results are a consequence'. It is no coincidence that, on the occasion of World Made in Italy Day, Giuseppe Sofia, head of the territorial inspectorate of Calabria and Sicily of Adolfo Urso's ministry, singled out Replanet as Calabrian excellence. Pratticò speaks of conscience, integrity, authenticity, reliability, when he talks about Replanet. And he gets emotional when presenting in a video his experience in Nigeria, where, in collaboration with Opera Don Bonifacio, he brought energy to the schools and hospital in the city of Orlu, in the state of Imo, by building photovoltaic roofs. A challenge to energy poverty, against social and economic gaps.
Experiments and Research
.In the meantime, Replanet is carrying out experiments and research with universities, institutions and industries: the next one, financed by the Pnrr, concerns energy communities and also involves the University of Calabria, for the creation, under the Tech4You programme, of a climate partnership with companies, municipalities and public bodies, in order to initiate a shared action to adapt to climate change. With the Armonia project, on the other hand, the company has already designed a smart system for collecting and disseminating air quality data within the municipality of Aprigliano, in the province of Cosenza, also to support the management of risk from exposure to atmospheric pollutants. And to make his way of doing business more explicit, Pratticò asked Pierpaolo Nudi, an exponent of MultivariArte, to transform the company's keywords into signs. The artist used the Baudot code, a coding system for teletype characters, invented at the end of the 19th century, to compose the regeneration letters between lines, polygons and colours.
