Rfi: 1.6 billion tender for new Av Sa-Rc line awarded to Consorzio Santomarco

Rete ferroviaria italiana (Fs Group) has awarded the tender for the construction of the new Santomarco Tunnel on the Cosenza-Paola/San Lucido line, an integral part of the future high-speed/high-capacity Salerno-Reggio Calabria link.

This can be read in a note from Rfi. The tender is worth approximately EUR 1.6 billion and was awarded to the Santomarco Consortium, consisting of Webuild, Ghella, Impresa Pizzarotti&C and Seli Overseas.

The project envisages the construction of a new double-track line with HS/HC characteristics with a length of 22 kilometres, of which approximately 17 kilometres will be in tunnels and the remaining five on the surface.
