Rome, security checks in the Termini station area with five arrests
Monitoring also involved road safety and drug dealing. Interventions on urban decorum and supporting the homeless
Inter-force operations to ensure security (and more) in the Termini station area in Rome led to a total of five arrests. State Police officers, Guardia di Finanza soldiers and staff from Ama (Rome's municipal waste collection company) and the Rome Municipality's Social Operations Room were engaged in a service that saw them operate jointly on several fronts in the Termini station quadrant under the operational guidance of the Viminale Commissioner.
The Budget
Over 250 people were identified during the operations, many of whom were already known to the police. Among them, five foreigners, without identity papers, were accompanied to the Immigration Office of the Police Headquarters for the necessary investigations to define their positions on the national territory. Two removal orders and one detention order in prison were executed.
Road Safety
On the road safety front, 50 vehicles were checked and 18 penalties imposed, two licences withdrawn and one administrative seizure.
Drug dealing
Three drug dealers were charged and five people arrested. In the area of Termini station, police officers went into action to stop several thieves and, on the administrative side, to sanction the owner of a betting shop for opening the shop after the permitted hours.
Urban Decorum and Assistance to the Homeless
Ama operators were also involved in the operation to restore urban decorum. While staff from the Roma Capitale social operations room were engaged in assisting the homeless.
