Meloni, another 600 million for occupational safety
"Today we are dedicating Labour Day to this issue and we are committed to doing even more. Together with INAIL, we have found another 650 million euros to implement new concrete measures that, together with the 600 million euros already available from INAIL calls for tenders to co-finance business investments in these areas, bring to over 1.2 billion the resources available to improve safety in the workplace. Premier: real wages rise
According to the premier, 'real wages are growing in contrast to what was happening in the past. Between 2013 and 2022, with the previous governments, in the rest of Europe the purchasing power of wages increased by 2.5 per cent, while in Italy it decreased by 2 per cent. Since October 2023,' he added, 'the trend has changed and families are gradually recovering their purchasing power with a wage dynamic that is better, not worse, than in the rest of Europe. There is clearly still much to be done, but the numbers that ultimately tell the story are encouraging'.
Meloni quotes Mattarella, no more indifference on work-related deaths

One cannot die like this. I want to take this opportunity to renew my condolences and closeness to the families of the victims, but I am aware that condolences are not enough. We must continue to act. Faced with this phenomenon, as the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, said, neither indifference nor resignation can be tolerated. This is the reason,' he added, 'why this government has always placed this issue at the centre of its action. We have done so, for example, with the credit licence, with the hiring of new inspection staff to increase controls, with resources to reward companies that invest in prevention'.
